Electric Wall Ovens - Different From Regular Ovens?

Have you ever tried to prepare food in your kitchen for a big family get together but felt like you were running out of room? If so, then there are a few appliances that you should know about that can make your culinary life a lot easier. One of these appliances is something called an electric wall oven. These ovens are different than the typical ones that you find in most homes.

How exactly are they different?

Instead of having them mounted into the rest of the countertops, these ovens are actually installed in the wall in your kitchen. This makes them much more accessible when you have to put something heavy in to cook such as a turkey or a large casserole in a heavy pan. Sometimes these things can weigh twenty or thirty pounds. If you are trying to get them out of a regular oven, then you have to bend over in a somewhat awkward angle and risk injuring your back.

With electric wall ovens, you are putting the heavy dish in and getting it out without ever having to bend over. This adds an extra element of convenience and also lessens the chance of pulling a muscle in your back.

Aside from the height, you can also get something called double electric ovens. This is especially convenient for anyone who spends times cooking multiple dishes at once. Say that you are cooking two things that both need time to cook in the oven. With a regular single oven, you would have to put them in one at a time. This essentially doubles your time in the kitchen. With double ovens, you can cook them both individually at different temperatures.

If you are getting ready for Thanksgiving or some other holiday, then this can really increase your overall productivity time in the kitchen. The same goes for if you are having a group of people over for dinner on a weekend evening. No matter what the occasion, a double wall oven can give you a lot of extra versatility that your kitchen may not have had before.

One of the downsides is that this does use a bit more electricity, but thankfully a lot of these ovens that are newer are built with special energy saving features that does not make them use as much as older models would. You can find a great selection of electric wall ovens at places such as Best Buy, Sears, and Lowes.
